Getting a Tattoo in Bali as an Australian
Planning a Bali trip and thinking about new ink? Mr Ink Bali is the Seminyak sister studio of Mr Ink Tattoo Lounge on the Sunshine Coast: Aussie standards, Aussie backing and a guarantee that follows you home.
As featured in the Daily Mail
Plenty of Australians come home from Bali with a tattoo. The ones who come home happy usually did a little homework first: they picked a studio with proper hygiene, a real design process and someone to call if anything needs a touch-up later. This page covers everything we'd want a mate to know before they book, from safety and aftercare to how to lock in a spot before you get on the plane.
An Aussie-backed studio in the heart of Seminyak
Mr Ink Bali is the sister studio of Mr Ink Tattoo Lounge on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We run the Bali studio to the same standards we're known for at home, and that connection is the reason many Australian clients choose us.
- All work is guaranteed. If your tattoo needs a touch-up, it's free.
- Touch-ups honoured in two countries. Come back to us in Seminyak, or drop into our Sunshine Coast studio once you're home.
- No language barrier. Clear, honest communication from the first message to the final wrap.

Hygiene to Australian standards
Safety is the first question most Australians ask about getting tattooed overseas, and it should be. Our approach is simple and transparent:
- Single-use needles that meet Australian standards, used once and disposed of.
- Needles opened in front of you, with expiry dates checked before we begin.
- A clean, professional studio set up for every client.
Exclusive, high-end and never rushed
An exclusive, high-end tattoo studio, limited to 6 beds so every client receives our full attention. We're not a production line for holiday flash. You'll have time to talk through your idea, ask questions and relax in a calm, premium space while you're tattooed.
Every design is 100% custom. Send us your references and we'll build a piece around your idea, your placement and your skin, then refine it with you in person in the studio. Have a look at our portfolio to see the realism, black and grey, Japanese and colour work we do.
How to book before you fly
Bali holidays fill up fast, and so do our books. Sorting your tattoo before you leave Australia means less stress and a guaranteed spot.
- Send your idea. DM us on Instagram at @mrinkbali (preferred) or WhatsApp +62 812-8225-1400 with your design idea and size.
- Get your quote. We'll come back to you with a quote for your piece.
- Pay a 25% deposit. This holds your spot. Spots are limited, so earlier is better.
- Design together in Seminyak. We finalise the artwork with you in the studio before we start.
Only want something small? Walk-ins are welcome for small tattoos. For more detail on planning, read our guide to getting a tattoo in Bali, or see our page on tattoos in Seminyak for directions to the studio.
Comfort options for bigger pieces
Planning a sleeve or back piece in one trip? We offer options that most studios can't:
- IV drips administered by a qualified doctor, to help keep you hydrated and comfortable through long sessions.
- General anaesthesia in a Bali hospital, so you can sleep through a large piece. Learn more about tattooing under general anaesthesia.
Aftercare in the tropics
Heat, humidity, sunshine and the temptation of the pool all make healing in Bali a little different to healing at home. Every client leaves with clear aftercare instructions, including rinsing your tattoo with bottled water after showering. Plan your trip so the big swims and long days in the sun come before your session, not straight after.
Our full tattoo aftercare guide for Bali covers sun, swimming and healing step by step.
Trusted by clients from around the world
As featured in the Daily Mail, Mr Ink Bali has become a go-to studio for clients from all over the world, Australians included. Footy players, soccer players, music artists, DJs, TV personalities and elite athletes have all sat in our chairs. Whether it's your first tattoo or your fiftieth, you'll get the same care and attention.
Ready to plan your Bali ink? Message us before you fly and we'll take it from there. You can also head back to our homepage to see more about the studio.
